Despite this setback, good weather enabled SpaceX to send the Falcon Heavy and the Arabsat-6A communications satellite to space yesterday, marking its first commercial launch. New launch vehicles are being tested by SpaceX's numerous competitors, but Falcon Heavy has the advantage of already existing and working as designed. The boosters are guided back to Earth so they can be refurbished and used again.

The Falcon Heavy is the most powerful rocket in use today.

Landing rockets has become routine for SpaceX. The second stage carrying the satellite separated as planned shortly after launch, and SpaceX later confirmed successful deployment in geostationary orbit. It was less than four years ago when it completed the first successful Falcon 9 landing on a Cape Canaveral launch pad.

The Falcon Heavy was poised to blast off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Wednesday night with a communication satellite.

This is the same launched astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin took off from towards the Moon in 1969.

SpaceX tweeted Thursday "all weather and systems are now go", so provided the pesky Floridian weather stays that way, it should be full steam ahead. Then, as it launched, all of this energy poured forth from 27 engines in a meticulously controlled explosion for the goal of sending a 6-ton satellite into geostationary orbit.

The satellite was constructed for the Saudi Arabian company by United States contractor Lockheed Martin.

The Roadster could still look much the same as it did for the February 6, 2018, launch, just not as shiny with perhaps some chips and flakes from the extreme temperature swings, according to Giorgini.

Musk threw his own convertible into space previous year, which is reportedly in a solar orbit around Mars.it happens to still be the same regardless of some less shine and a loss of a few chips here and there.
