December's Pixel 4 update comes with different fixes next week

The best Cyber Monday smartphone deals are right here

However, Google has continued and today detailed the December Pixel 4 update, including the many fixes it will contain.

Google has rolled out Android security updates for December 2019 to all its Pixel devices running on Android 10. Save on line plans and unlocked iPhone XR, iPhone 11, Galaxy S9, Galaxy S10, Pixel 4, OnePlus 7T, LG G8 and more smartphones by checking out the deals listed below. Of course, having dealt with this sort of thing many times in the past with custom ROMs etc I do know that you will have to be patient and quick at the same time - you will have to navigate in between the various times the Pixel crash pop-up appears, eventually getting to the uninstall updates.

The Pixel 4 family has been far more reliable than previous Pixel generations, all of which were bedeviled by one to several high-profile issues.

Consisting of the 2019-12-01 and 2019-12-05 security patch levels, the Android Security Patch for December 2019 addresses a total of 42 security flaws across various Android components, including Android Framework, Media framework, Android System, Kernel components, as well as Qualcomm components, including closed-source ones.

As for fixes for this month's update, Google is addressing a number of items.

Key among these changes are a fix for static noise in Spotify, a fix for "background audio static" in third-party camera apps (like Instagram and SnapChat, where users have reported clicking sounds in videos), and support for dark mode in the bootloader display (which has been a bright, stark white to date). The update is available on Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3/3XL, Pixel 3a/3a XL, Pixel 2/2XL and the original Pixel/Pixel XL. Additionally, the update improves haptic vibration intensity for certain cases.

Pixel 4 owners should expect updates to the Android system software as well as the security features for three years from when the device launched, until October 2022.
