The Invisible Man Trailer – A new vision of terror from Leigh Whannell
       By Jon Lyus

I have no idea what is happening with the Dark Universe. The Invisible Man is a co-production of Goalpost Pictures Australia and Blumhouse Productions, in association with Nervous Tick, for Universal Pictures.

The film also stars Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid, Harriet Dyer, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Benedict Hardie and Sam Smith.

The story introduces us to Cecilia Kass (Elisabeth Moss), trapped in a controlling and violent relationship with a brilliant and rich scientist. The preview options audiences a glimpse on the terror Elisabeth Moss' Cecilia Kass will take care of as she tries to affect others that her abusive ex-spouse faked his demise and uncovered a solution to make himself invisible to proceed haunting her family. Weird stipulation? You bet. until she begins to suspect that he's not actually dead - a revelation that should, again, come as no surprise to anyone who's paid attention to the name of the movie.

The site even spoke with Whannell, who explained his perspective in recreating The Invisible Man.

Where The Mummy was bombastic and incredibly over-the-top (and I can only imagine what Depp's Invisible Man would have done while looking extra-weird), this movie seems grounded in a realism that's so horrifying because it hits close to home for many.

We only just learned how all too grimly real Leigh Whannell's take on The Invisible Man was going to be. A female-led thriller is an intriguing new angle, but it's also an obvious example of a film that should have a women writer or director at the helm.

Elisabeth Moss in The Invisible Man. But as Whannell says, this is really Moss' show.

Either way, I am always on board for more Moss as she can act the trousers off just about anybody out there, and Whannell has proven himself to be a damn fine filmmaker. "If you're going to hang an entire film on someone's shoulders, you need an actor as good as Lizzie".

Universal has dropped the first trailer for the Blumhouse-produced The Invisible Man, which is. well, kinda sorta still part of whatever remains of the ashes of the Universal Monsters' Dark Universe?
