Deion Sanders reportedly a candidate to become Florida State's new coach

REPORT: Deion Sanders Emerges As Candidate For FSU Head Coaching Position

On Friday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has emerged as a candidate to replace the recently fired Willie Taggart as the next head coach at Florida State University.

It seems unlikely that Sanders will end up with the job, but that didn't stop his NFL Network colleagues on NFL Total Access from speculating about his future success before Thursday Night Football.

Sanders is now 52 years old and works as a college football analyst for CBS Sports and NFL Network. Odell Haggins is serving as the Seminoles' interim coach for the remainder of the season.

Taggart was sacked by the school after less than two seasons on the job. The two-time Super Bowl champion has no coaching experience outside of being the offensive coordinator at his son's high school in Texas, spending most of his post-retirement professional life as an analyst on multiple platforms.

Late previous evening, information broke that Florida State legend Deion Sanders is finding concerned in the head coaching task at his alma mater. Sanders responded by saying he would want some Miami high school football players to play at Florida State if he gets the job.

Sanders then responded "Love ya my brother!" Always have always will.

Now, Glazer isn't typically who you would turn to for a Florida State scoop, but he wouldn't share the info if it wasn't coming from some side of this story. I need those players from Miami.

He played football, baseball and track at Florida State from 1986 through 1988. Having been drafted by the Yankees in the 1988 MLB Draft, Sanders used NY to his advantage in a contract dispute with the Atlanta Falcons, who drafted him a year later with the fifth overall pick in the first round. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011. "Sanders" No. 2 jersey was retired at Doak Campbell Stadium in 1995.
