Spotify Siri Integration Launches Across Apple Products, Gets Apple TV App

You can now increase or decrease the size of the text on the website you’re currently browsing

Listening to Spotify on an iOS device just got a lot easier with support for Siri voice commands.

This is huge for Spotify, the biggest music streaming service on the planet, with more than 96 million paying subscribers.

Go to Settings Siri & Search, and scroll down through your apps until you see Spotify. And it brings a brand-new Apple TV app.

You can ask Siri to play artists, albums, tracks, and playlists after updating to the latest version of the app.

Apple has said it acts in the best interests of its users and treats all developers equally.

Tech firms comprising Apple are encountering elevated probe about whether their methods are anti-competitive, with the House Judiciary Committee of the U.S. pursuing an antitrust probe into whether the Big Four of Apple, Amazon, Google, and Facebook influenced online competition. Spotify is also now rolling out an Apple TV app and support for iOS 13's Low Data Mode, which can reduce streaming quality to consume less mobile data.

Pandora, Google Maps and Waze had been among the many first to undertake Siri integration when it turned obtainable in iOS 13 - a transparent indication that a few of Apple's chief rivals have been prepared and keen to launch Siri help as quickly because it was potential.

Finally, the official Spotify app is now available on Apple TV.

What is your point of view on Apple controlling the App Store? Which means now you can request your favourite music or podcasts utilizing Siri voice instructions, by preferencing the command with "Hey Siri, play...", adopted by the audio you need, and concluding the command with "on Spotify". This allows Apple to easily cripple competing apps that provide services similar to their own, eliminating competition.

Apple didn't respond to a request for comment.

Controlling every aspect of the App Store, including what apps can exist on it, brings an unfair advantage to the company, many claim.

"Even now, only a tiny fraction of their subscriptions fall under Apple's revenue-sharing model".
