Pixelbook Go leaks in full: What to expect from next-gen Chromebook

Google tweeted this image of the new Pixel 4

Ahead of a Google event next week, the company's latest Chromebook, the Google Pixelbook Go, has been laid bare. The device, as you can see from this hands-on experience shared by 9to5Google, is quite different from previous Google-made Chromebooks.

The photos show the Pixelbook Go in a "Not Pink" color with a unique ribbed back. Now it is Pixelbook Go's turn.

The Pixelbook Go comes with a weird base that has a textured rubber finish, probably for extra grip, and a matte finish lid that 9to5Google says looks like the Pixel 3's matte finish.

On the inside, you'll find a 13.3-inch display, 2MP front camera, two far-field mics for picking up "Hey Google" commands, and a keyboard that is described as "just as good or better than the first Pixelbook".

The device will come with a range of processor options from Intel, including Core m3, i5 and i7 options and ofter local hard drive options of 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. It is expected to come in Full HD or 4K "Molecular Display" options.

The Pixelbook Go was first whispered about in the rumour mill last month, but now, thanks to 9to5Google, there's irrefutable proof that it's a thing, and will nearly certainly get its official release at Google's hardware event in NY on Tuesday.

Apart from running Chrome OS, rumours suggest that the Pixelbook Go will have all the makings of a regular laptop.

We still don't know how much the Pixelbook Go will cost or when it will be available to purchase, but by the end of the event next week, we should know everything there is to know about this product.
