The French midfielder has always been linked with a move to Los Blancos, with the player himself admitting he could look for new challenge.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists he does not "have any problem" with Paul Pogba being pictured on a beach with Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane in the UAE.

Zidane was keen to bring Pogba to the Bernabeu in the summer - and is reportedly still set on getting the France global - but Solskjaer says the midfielder plays a key role in his United vision.

Pogba and coach Zinedine Zidane were spotted together in Dubai enjoying some holidays during the worldwide break.

"I've spoken to Paul so many times". He's been playing through pain barriers.

"He gets criticised but he came back for the Rochdale and Arsenal when he could not have played".

"And what we spoke about is private, a conversation between me and him". It's a picture and when you play for Manchester United you have pictures taken and there's speculation. "I don't have any problem with that at all", the 46-year-old concluded.

"He wanted to try to get back, it was too painful, so we had that scan and now he's on the way back, he's mending, he's recovering, he's been on a few days off working and there's a picture".

Asked about the image, Solskjaer said: "Here we go with the picture!"

Pogba has been in warm weather training at the Transform Altitude Performance Center in a bid to accelerate his recovery from the foot injury which will rule him out of Sunday's game against Liverpool at Anfield.

Zidane, now in his second spell as Real Madrid manager, was attending an artificial intelligence conference.

Former Juventus star Pogba has a further two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, with United also able to trigger a one-year extension.
