Nokia unveils 'digital detox' flip phone as part of new line-up

Nokia just launched two affordable Android phones with triple-lens cameras

The company said it will cost just 20 United States dollars when it launches later this month.

Starting with the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2, both phones sport a similar design with a waterdrop styled notch up front.

The Nokia 7.2 release date is set for the end of September, and prices start at €299 (roughly $330, £270, AU$490) for the 4GB/64GB model, while the 6GB/128GB configuration will set you back €349 (around $380, £315, AU$570).

It'll run Android 9 out of the box, but with Android One it'll get the upgrade to Android 10 pretty quickly - as is the Nokia way.

The Nokia 7.2 is equipped with a glass unibody design along with aluminium edges.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nokia 2720 Flip on the rear packs 2-megapixel camera. In addition, the smartphone has an AI-based Night mode that now takes more shots and uses an image fusion technique to show the best result.

Naturally, the Nokia 2720 can still run Snake, and like all of HMD's so-called "Nokia Originals" handsets, it offers a hefty battery life that puts even the highest-spec of flagship smartphones to shame; HMD is promising an impressive 27 days of standby time. The Nokia 2720 flip phone and Nokia 110 will have apps like Google, Google Maps, WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, and Google Assistant integration. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor along with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage.

Those RAM choices are married with 32GB and 64GB of storage respectively.

On the camera front, it comes loaded with a triple-camera setup with a combination of 16-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel 118-degree ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. There's an 8-megapixel camera up front for selfies. The case has USB Type-C charging.

The Nokia 6.2 ships with a refreshingly clean version of Android 9 Pie and will continue to receive security updates for three years, but that's not all. Both devices have the same size display and the same size camera array at their back (not the same camera lenses, but the same size circular pod in which they're housed). Well it's a good thing the company has plenty of those to go around, and today it's gone and announced two brand new ones.

If that's not retro enough for you, there's also the new Nokia 800 Tough.

With an IP68 rating it can survive in water to a depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes, and withstand a drop of 1.8 meters directly onto concrete. It has a non-slip frame and a safety loop at the bottom for a wrist strap or lanyard and you can see screws around the body of the phone. It comes in two different colors: Desert Camo (pictured above) and Matte Black.

The Nokia 110 feature phone comes a 1.77-inch QVGA coloured display.

The Nokia 110 comes in single SIM and dual SIM variants and packs an 800mAh battery with a standby time of 18.5 days and u to 14 hours of talk time. It has a 2MP rear camera with an LED flash. The phone will be available in Ceramic Black and Ice. It comes with an MP3 player and FM Radio support. It gets triple-slot, which means you can use two SIM cards and a microSD card together.

United Kingdom prices are still TBA, but prices for the Nokia 7.2 will start at €299 when it goes on sale at the end of September, while the 6.2 will kick off at €199 when it hits shop shelves next month.
