Ronaldo's 20-yard shot went in off the head of Lithuania goalkeeper Ernestas Setkus and he scored two more from Bernardo Silva passes, before William Carvalho's injury-time fifth.

The victory saw Portugal cement second place in Group B of the Euro 2022 qualifiers, with eight points from four games.

With the win, they moved a point above third-placed Serbia, but have a game in hand.

"It is up to me to continue helping the national team".

Ronaldo added: "I am happy and enjoying this moment, not just because I scored the goals, but because of the level that we have achieved in these last years".
