Vegan Beyond Meatball Subs Are Coming to U.S. and Canadian Subway Locations

The chain said research from NPD Group now indicates that 70% of individuals in the US who consider themselves "meat-eaters" still eat a non-meat protein meal once a week.

The company said in its release that the sandwich is "packed with protein" at 24 grams per six-inch sub.

Subway Canada is teaming up with Beyond Meat for the introduction of the new Beyond Meatball Marinara Sub at select test locations starting in September 2019.

By now, if you haven't tried Beyond Meat, you've probably at least heard about it.

The plant-based protein trend that has swept through the restaurant industry may not be the healthiest dietary option, according to "Bar Rescue" host Jon Taffer. However, it uses the Beyond Meatball, which was created by the plant-based "meat" maker exclusively for the sandwich chain.
