Danny Trejo Saves Baby Trapped in Vehicle After Car Wreck

Danny Trejo attends a From Dusk till Dawn The Series screening and panel discussion in Beverly Hills Calif. on Sept. 9 2016

Hollywood actor Danny Trejo, known for his tough-guy roles in such films as 'Machete, ' helped rescue a young boy who was trapped in a vehicle that overturned in a Los Angeles traffic collision on Wednesday.

Trejo described the accident to NBCLA, saying; 'A lady ran a red light and crashed into that Explorer, flipped it over'. He crawled into the vehicle and, with the help of a female bystander who had crawled in from the other side of the auto, the pair managed to free the child from the restraints.

Afterward, he told ABC News cameras, "Pay attention", he said, "And the only thing that saved that little kid was his vehicle seat, honest to God".

The Hollywood star revealed he was distracting the boy the whole time, while firefighters were working to rescue his grandmother from the driver's seat.

Danny Trejo was in the right place at the right time when he witnessed a auto accident in Los Angeles.

He said he works with special-needs children so he knew how to keep the little boy calm. "So he screamed 'superpowers" and we started yelling 'superpowers".

The Los Angeles Fire Department told ABC that three people were taken to hospital as a result of the incident but that their injuries were not life-threatening. "We got kind of, like, a bond, I guess".

"Everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else", Trejo told the radio station.

The veteran actor, known for roles in films like Heat and Machete, was in the Sylmar neighborhood of Los Angeles on Thursday when two cars collided at the intersection of Hubbard Street and Jackman Avenue.
