After smartphones, OnePlus announces OnePlus TV coming to India in September

OnePlus 7T One Plus 7T Pro could be launched in India on September 26

A new 5G smartphone can be launched by OnePlus, and that too this year. In isolation, the timeline is a good fit for OnePlus' twice-yearly phone release cycle and therefore the anticipated OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro.

The TV can be expected to be launched in the Premium SmartTV category with prices higher than its chinese counterpart Xiaomi, who leads the market however still affordable. According to the leak, the 7T duo will be available in the U.S. starting October 10th, and the rest of the world will get to see these phones from October 15th. Or at least OnePlus would first launch it in its home country of China. When it comes to OnePlus TV, the CEO states that users can expect great image and sound quality.

For its first TV, Lau said that OnePlus benchmarked against "the best of the best" in TVs, and that the company is using 4K resolution quantum dot - or "QLED" - screen panels.

After months of anticipation, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau finally broke his silence regarding the developments on the OnePlus TV. The TV set will debut in India first, potentially rolling out to other regions, including North America, if OnePlus can line up partnerships. However, these are just speculations and OnePlus hasn't officially revealed the launch date of the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 7T Pro. The TV range will be in four sizes, 43-inches, 55-inches, 65-inches, and 75-inches. While it remains to be seen which models OnePlus will bring to the subcontinent, we're happy they're offering so much choice.

What we can't anticipate at this point is a release outside of India. This chip, mind you, is more powerful than the regular 855, which powers the OnePlus 7 series. The OnePlus 7T Pro exact release time is still in the dark, however, the latest rumor indicates the device will be releasing on October 15th.

The OnePlus logo is projected onto a wall during a launch event for the new OnePlus 6T in the Manhattan borough of New York, New York, U.S., October 29, 2018.
