Space Jam 2 Has Had A Director Shakeup

039;Girls Trip' Director Malcolm D. Lee Will Helm 'Space Jam 2'

The greatest achievement of LeBron James' NBA career came after the Cleveland Cavaliers replaced coaches midway through the regular season. Deadline reports, "We hear that Nance's departure from the project was amicable, and essentially the filmmaker and the studio/producers had different takes on the creative vision for Space Jam 2".

Director Terence Nance has departed the production of Space Jam 2, with Girl's Trip director Malcolm D. Lee taking his place, according to Deadline.

Space Jam 2 will star LeBron James instead of Michael Jordan with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler onboard to produce.

Perhaps it was only a matter of time, especially with the volume that SpringHill Entertainment creates content these days, but it won't be a small story that their biggest production to date is undergoing a major change during a crucial summer for 'Space Jam 2'.

Though the long-awaited sequel won't feature Steph Curry, Kevin Durant or James Harden, the film has landed an impressive roster so far with the Portland Trailblazers' Damian Lillard, New Orleans Pelicans' Anthony Davis, and Golden State Warriors' Klay Thompson.

Don Cheadle is also starring in "Space Jam 2".

James, 34, had a supporting role in the 2015 hit comedy Trainwreck, his first foray into Hollywood acting.
