A plea for global help tonight, from a community leader in Papua New Guinea's Highlands, after at least 16 people, including children and pregnant women, were found massacred.

In the Karida attack, six women and eight children - as well as two pregnant women and their unborn children - were hacked and shot to death in a 30-minute rampage.

Prime Minister James Marape said the news was "one of the saddest days of my life", and promised to hunt down the killers.
