Apple will launch notchless iPhone in 2020

New Rumors Claim Apple to Launch Notchless iPhone in 2020

However, the 2020 and 2021 iPhones are expected to be much more exciting. Because every autumn we are used to be presented a brand new iteration of Apple's iPhone, and since iPhones are on the top of a lot of people's wishlist, leaks about the iPhone's specs and components started to appear online.

The 2019 iPhone has received mixed opinions even before its launch with a majority suggesting they will skip this generation in favour for the 2020 iPhone. Apple may launch three iPhones featuring only OLED displays in 2020. As per reports, Apple is all set to develop its under-screen fingerprinting technology rather than rely on a third-party provider.

But as always with Apple rumors, only time will tell. Instead, the note suggests only one of the iPhone 12R, iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 Max, will have no notch, and the rest will follow suit with the iPhone 13 range in 2021. But Apple may have found ways to reduce the size of that notch without affecting 3D face recognition functionality.

A bit of information from a separate report says that Apple is planning on launching at least one full-screen iPhone in 2020. "It is also early, so these plans could change". The iPhone 11 phones coming in mid-September are all expected to feature the same display design as the iPhone XS and XR phones, notch included. By removing all the Face ID sensors and placing the camera and fingerprint sensor under the display, Apple would be able to deliver flawless all-screen iPhones a year later.

Apple will be looking to completely remove the notch in the next two years.

Additionally, the notchless iPhone that will be released in 2020 will feature an under-screen front camera and acoustic fingerprint authentication that is full screen. However, Oppo and Xiaomi have demonstrated under-display cameras already, with Oppo saying it'll be in a handset soon.

Apple changed how phones were designed when it released the iPhone X in 2017 and introduced the world to the notched displays. Many felt that it hinders the smartphone experience and prevents an edge-to-edge display.

Now the recent reports back such speculations.

While we always take Kuo's thoughts with a pinch of salt, there is some logic here.

However, Apple is going to add a new camera system along with extra lenses, which is going to have a good camera quality than its predecessors. Thus, ditching Face ID in favor of Touch ID seems highly unlikely for now.
