Amir Khan sets sights on Pacquiao after Dib victory

Amir's dream of a bout in Saudi Arabia to come true on Friday

The Bolton boxer, 32, secured a fourth-round stoppage against the Australian, 33, to pick up the WBC global welterweight title.

Amir Khan made his physical attributes tell against his overmatched, undersized, late-replacement opponent and put him away without any trouble.

The Bolton star has previously visited Saudi Arabia to do his Umrah, the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, but has always dreamed of one day fighting in the The Kingdom and popularising boxing as a sport to spectate and participate in.

Amir Khan collected a lucrative £7m pay package for his performance against Billy Dib in Saudi Arabia. Dib bravely rose at the count of eight and managed to hang on until the end of the round but Khan dished out more heavy punishment in the third round.

Dib, who stepped up two weights for the fight, was dumped to the the floor in the fourth round after an explosive array of shots from Khan, and the towel was immediately thrown in.

The 32-year-old Brit was beaten by Terence Crawford in April but returned to winning ways with a routine triumph against an undersized Dib.

After the fight, Amir Khan said he hoped to come to the Kingdom more often, praising the "great show in Jeddah", and said there were "many more to come in Saudi Arabia" in a tweet.

Khan reunited with strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza for this fight and hired new trainer former world champion Bones Adams.

"I felt very comfortable in there".

Khan came out strong and fast, utilising the hand speed we're so accustomed to seeing throughout the years. "I was seeing everything, making sure I was putting in the right shots". I slowed down a little bit instead of rushing all the time, I was seeing everything.
