From Software reveal George R.R. Martin's Elden Ring
			Alice O'Connor News Editor 10th June 2019

Elden Ring has no confirmed release date, but when it does, it will launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.

Unlike Sekiro, which was developed at the same time as Elden Ring, the new game is focused more on its RPG elements than action. Nor can we really take that much from the title, which reads like a combination of fellow popular fantasy franchises Elden Scrolls and Lord Of Ring.

Miyazaki said the term "open world" isn't so easily defined. That being said, Elden Ring will still have "responsive melee-based combat", Miyazaki said. While Dark Souls is relatively unrestricted in how it allows you to explore, it sounds like Elden Ring will be even moreso, potentially without distinct areas divided by loading screens? George R.R. Martin can't wait for us to see what his Elden Ring has in store for us. "Among those areas, you will also find intricately designed, multi-layered castles and such", Miyazaki explained. At the time, From Software envisioned Elden Ring as a "more classic fantasy title".

In the Bandai Namco interview, Miyazaki also confirms that big-time boss fights are still a major part of From Software's recipe. Don't tell me you don't see it. Look up at the sky.

Who will the protagonist be in Elden Ring?

Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki detailed what it was like collaborating with Martin in an interview with Xbox Wire, noting that the pair have had plenty of "free and creative conversations regarding the game" which Martin used as a base to "write the overarching mythos for the game world itself".

"Miyazaki is a "huge fan" of Martin's works; he personally recommends Martin's Fevre Dream" to new From Software employees. "We hope that everyone else is looking forward to the world we have created".
