Officials in Washington say several people were injured after a panic at the LGBTQ pride parade sent people running through the streets

A man turned into once arrested for waving a handgun all the draw throughout the Capital Pride Parade in Washington DC - sparking a stampede that left several folks within the clinic, in preserving with police officers.

An Indian-American was arrested in the United States for threatening a person with a BB gun and causing a stampede during an LGBTQ pride parade here, leaving several people injured as hundreds of participants fled in panic fearing a mass shooter.

Ashley Smith, the president of Capital Pride Alliance, which puts on the event, said he saw people running toward him from Dupont Circle.

"As people were coming down, I did hear a few loud bangs, which were obviously the cause of additional panic, but they were probably just the sound of the temporary barriers getting knocked down as people were trying to leave the scene".

People were injured Saturday during the Capital Pride Parade while running from what they thought were gunshots, according to District of Columbia Deputy Mayor Kevin Donahue.

But police did not find any evidence of shots fired, Rivera said.

"There is NO Active Shooter at Dupont Circle".

A man is due to appear in court after allegedly causing a stampede at a gay pride parade in the U.S. which left seven people needing hospital treatment.

According to the police report, 38-year-old Aftabjit Singh told them he drew the replica gun during an exchange between his significant other and an unidentified person.

The man was taken into custody and is facing a gun possession charge, he said.

Mayor Muriel Bowser confirmed that no shots had been fired. She said fire department personnel were "on the scene to treat minor injuries / due to reports of a shooting".

"Everything fell and everyone said: 'Run!,'" said Hernandez of Falls Church, Virginia.

The incident happened near Dupont Circle. She said she ran, was pushed into a restaurant and hid in the bathroom. "We're very focused on wanting to make sure we continue to have a great event for the rest of the weekend".
