Lukaku admits his Man United future is uncertain

Eden Hazard Belgium 2019

Lukaku nearly re-joined Conte's Chelsea in 2017 and now could play for the Italian at Inter.

"I'll speak with my club and my agent Federico Pastorello to make the best decision", Lukaku admitted after Belgium's 3-0 win against Scotland.

The Belgian worldwide scored twice as they beat Scotland 3-0 in their EURO 2020 qualifier in Brussels on Tuesday, and speaking afterwards the former Chelsea and Everton striker revealed his future is up in the air.

The 26-year-old's future at Old Trafford has been something of a source of speculation in recent months, with Inter Milan said to be interested in luring him to Serie A this summer.

Lukaku scored 27 goals across all competition in his debut season at United after joining from Everton in 2017.

It is obvious that his reputation has taken a hit in the Premier League and his confidence, at club level, is pretty much at an all-time low.

"As for my future, I have already made a decision that I still can not communicate publicly out of respect for Manchester United with whom I have a contract".

"He was a young boy when he worked with me, he has grown since then, strong, a goal scorer and he has played for some of the best clubs in the Premier League".

'I am going to enjoy my holidays with my family now.

But the United striker claims the manager knows how he feels.

United could still keep the former Chelsea player, but his future has been in doubt since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over in December and made Marcus Rashford his first-choice striker.

"But that is a phase in my career and it will help me for the next step". We'll see. Do I expect a busy summer? Yes.

Indeed, Scotland boss Steve Clarke said that Robertson "tried everything he could [to be okay to play vs. Belgium], he did the training session last night, but he woke up and still felt it so no good".
