Jessica Biel: ‘I am Not Against Vaccinations’

She was there to lobby against a California State Bill which would mean that parents wouldn't be able to get their children out of compulsory vaccinations without permission from a public health officer. She said she worries about people such as her friends, whose child has a medical condition that requires exemption from vaccinations.

This bill is being floated with the express goal of protecting public health, and according to the bill's sponsors, which include the California Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatric, the bill would not block exemptions for children with actual medical issues exacerbated by vaccines.

The bill, introduced by State Senator Richard Pan, proposes that by 2021, licensed physicians and surgeons statewide must use a standardized medical exemption request form, and that this form becomes the only one accepted by the state government. Not because I don't believe in vaccinations, but because I believe in giving doctors and the families they treat the ability to decide what's best for their patients and the ability to provide that treatment. Her lobbying partner, Robert, also avoided that label when explaining why Jessica is getting mixed up in vaccination politics.

It appears that actress Jessica Biel is as a supporter of the anti-vax movement. However, Biel has not explicitly called her self an "anti-vaxxer".

Actress Jessica Biel recently met with some 15 California legislators to discuss concerns about a vaccination bill and advocate for "parental rights".

Biel said she went to Sacramento to talk to California legislators about a proposed bill, explaining that her "concern" with the SB277 was exclusively regarding medical exemptions.

The pair were voicing their opposition to a vaccine bill which seeks to limit medical exemptions in California and make it more hard for parents to bypass the rules requiring children to be vaccinated before enrolling in school.

Several other California politicians shared pictures of their discussions with Biel and Kennedy.

Biel and husband Justin Timberlake were reported to have avoided vaccinating their children, but have never publicly spoken of their opposition. "I would say that she was for safe vaccines and for medical freedom", he said before adding his group's rallying cry of "my body, my choice". "She feels that vaccination could cause complications", a Touch Weekly source claimed at the time.
