A Brooklyn woman said that she vomited blood at a resort in the Dominican Republic after drinking a 7UP soda that was allegedly filled with bleach, according to local reports. His family says Wallace became ill after getting a drink from the hotel's minibar. Law enforcement said the couple died of the same illness that led to Wallace's and Schaup-Werner's deaths.

"You finally get those days off you look forward to and something like this will happen?" said Montes, CBS New York reported. "He and his wife arrived there at around midnight on April 10". On April 11 he had scotch from the minibar. Immediately, "he started feeling very sick, he had blood in his urine and stool right afterward", his niece tells Fox News.

She said a hotel doctor had checked Wallace, then decided on April 13 that he needed to be hospitalized. Her cause of death was due to a "heart attack", said her sister, Felecia Nieves.

"We didn't find out until the next morning that he had passed, which is another weird thing", he said.

The U.S. State Department, responding to questions about Wallace's death, said in a statement to Fox News: "We can confirm the death of a U.S. citizen in April 2019 in the Dominican Republic".

'We offer our sincerest condolences to the family for their loss. Out of respect for the family during this hard time, we do not have additional information to provide.

Miranda Schaup-Werner, 41, booked a room with her husband at the Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville hotel.

"My 6-year-old and 3-year-old used run in the house and jump on him on the couch and he'd wrestle with them for hours on end", Tickenhoff said. At the time, Harrison was on vacation with his wife and 12-year-old son to celebrate his wedding anniversary. His death was later ruled a result of pulmonary edema.
