Devolver E3 2019: Fall Guys, Carrion, Bootleg & More

As expected, one of the highlights from last night's E3 coverage was the Devolver Digital conference, a satirical look at the gaming industry presented in the form of a pre-recorded presentation.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout flings 100 contestants together online in a mad dash through round after round of escalating chaos until one victor remains.

The premise is simple, instead of trying to stop a giant tentacle monster from destroying everything, you are the giant tentacle monster!

More news: Final Fantasy VII Remake finally gets a release date

The Messenger's free DLC, Picnic Panic, received a brand new trailer and a release date of July 11, 2019 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC. You'll take control of an amorphous, eldritch nightmare of unknown origin and wreak havoc on the people holding you captive.

Carrion was revealed in today's "Devolver Direct" for a 2020 release.

New games, release dates and even an arcade cabinet for $5,000 were featured at the hour long conference. From what we could tell, as the creature eats more of the humans, it's going to level up and likely acquire new abilities to use to hunt its prey. Announcements included everything from a massively multiplayer party game, to a collection of original rip-off bootlegs, to a legitimate arcade-light gun game. Carrion will launch next year on PC and consoles. We'll do our best to bring you a timely review on this wacky Devolver venture. House of the Gundead will be making its way to local arcades next year, though Devolver promises it'll be playable at home too. There should be room in the Cultured Vultures budget for that. Sound off in the comments.
