Cuba Gooding Jr.'s lawyer claims surveillance video shows 'no criminality'

Woman Groped By Cuba Gooding Jr. Was Trying To Help Him During Intoxicated State

FILE PHOTO: Cuba Gooding Jr. attends the 69th annual DGA Awards in Beverly Hills, California, U.S., February 4, 2017.

The charge stems from an accusation that the actor groped a woman on Sunday at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar, a claim that Gooding Jr. has denied. "I met a bunch of people, I said hello, I took pictures and ... you know, you have to have faith in what people say".

Cuba Gooding Jr.'s lawyer said Thursday security video will exonerate the actor from allegations he groped a woman at a New York City night spot.

The female left the bar and called 911 to report the alleged incident, according to the source, and NYPD Manhattan Special Victims Squad is investigating.

Speaking to reporters, Heller said the woman who made the allegation is seen on the video following Gooding around, and at one point, she was asked to leave him alone.

The bartender told police she asked Gooding Jr.to calm down, at which point he allegedly pushed her away.

"I trust the system", he said as he walked through Los Angeles International Airport, adding that there was a tape "that shows what really happened". "Now, I'm giving the process the chance to show what happened [and] what went down".

A social media video shows the actor singing and interacting with fans earlier in the evening prior to the alleged incident.

The bar, on the roof of the Moxy Hotel near Times Square, features a mini-golf course and sweeping views of the Empire State Building and other Big Apple landmarks. He also starred as O.J. Simpson in "The People v. OJ Simpson" TV series in 2016, and recently completed filming a new movie "Life in a Year" along with Jaden Smith and Nia Long.
