Asus ROG Phone 2 confirmed to come with 120Hz display in July

The front of the Asus ROG Phone

The Asus ROG Phone was the first smartphone in the world to feature an OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, and now, the company is expected to launch the second generation ROG Phone, which is nearly confirmed to feature a display offering 120Hz refresh rate, and a poster from the partner company Tencent has confirmed the same. Moreover, the comic "Under One Person" that is published by Tencent China has been confirmed to be the very first game to have a taste of the new display. More importantly, some are hoping that the new phone will still be compatible with all of the original accessories that came with the ROG Phone.

The original ROG Phone sported a 90Hz OLED display, so for the ROG Phone 2 to sport a 120Hz panel is definitely an upgrade.

Other rumors point out that ROG Phone 2 will ship with the Snapdragon 855 paired with 12GB of RAM.

The other specifications of the ROG Phone 2 are now under the wraps. Since it's a gaming phone, it's highly possible it will also come with a cooling mechanism.

The Razer Phone and Razer Phone 2 are the current refresh rate champions, offering a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth performance and touch input.

Asus was rumoured to launch ROG Phone 2 at the Computex this year in Taiwan as the company launched its first ever gaming smartphone at the same conference last year. Customers can buy this gaming device for Rs 69,999. The panel operates at Full HD+ resolution. The translated post also mentions the fact that the video game "Under The One Man" will support the new refresh rate, making it one of the titles users will be able to play on the next Asus phone.

The company has also added three ultrasonic pressure sensitive zones on the top and bottom sides.
