Trump Rages Against House Democrats: ‘Mueller Should Not Testify’

Then-FBI Director Robert Mueller testifies before the Senate Intelligence Committee

A Democratic member of the House Judiciary Committee says he's hopeful special counsel Robert Mueller will appear before the panel, citing a "tentative date" for Mueller's testimony.

Escalating tensions with House Democrats as they seek to bring Mueller before the House Judiciary Committee, Trump tweeted: "no redos for the Dems".

In a Twitter rant, Trump accused Democrats of "looking for a redo because they hated seeing the strong NO COLLUSION conclusion".

Cicilline called the agreement "tentative", he said, because "the representative for the Special Counsel has" signed off on the scheduled hearing but that "until the day comes, we never have an absolute guarantee".

Mueller, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation director, was unable to establish that the Trump campaign conspired with Russian Federation to influence the 2016 election. There was no crime, except on the other side (incredibly not covered in the Report), and NO OBSTRUCTION.

U.S. Attorney General William Barr testifies before a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on "the Justice Department's investigation of Russian interference with the 2016 presidential election" on Capitol Hill in Washington, U.S., May 1, 2019.

Trump just said on Friday that it's up to A.G. Barr whether or not Mueller should testify.

Barr testified Wednesday that Mueller didn't challenge the accuracy of his memo summarizing the principal conclusions of the special counsel's report, including when they spoke on the phone.

"That's up to our attorney general, who I think has done a fantastic job", the president said.

Convinced that Attorney General Barr also "misled" Congress on the subject of obstruction of justice, CNN reports, Democrats are also interested in asking Mueller how he feels about Barr's interpretation of his report, both in a letter issued the weekend Mueller's report was completed, and in subsequent statements Barr made to lawmakers.
