These 7 cities just got AT&T 5G

AT&T has announced that it has expanded its mobile 5G network to "parts" of seven more cities including Austin, Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose. AT&T said it is the only mobile carrier to offer mobile 5G service to businesses and consumers, well ahead of its competitors such as Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint. HCS uses two 5G mobile hotspots to move workflows smoothly.

AT&T said it plans to offer at least three 5G mobile devices this year. Carriers are claiming their 5G networks will be around 10 times as fast as the current 4G LTE standard. According to the official press release, there are now no less than 19 cities across the United States where AT&T is the only carrier that provides mobile 5G service to both businesses and consumers.

It's important to note that AT&T specifically says "parts" of these seven cities will have 5G coverage, meaning AT&T's 5G network may not be available throughout the entirety of any of the seven new cities.

Recently, AT&T received enormous criticism for essentially rolling out a fake "5G" network - hint: it's not really 5G, just 5G E, its advanced LTE network, which apparently is slower than other carrier's regular LTE speeds, ironically.

Samsung 5G smartphones are expected to be arriving soon as well. AT&T is yet to launch 5G on a smartphone to its customers.

The first catch is that AT&T's 5G coverage isn't that impressive just yet, with connections tending to get spotty depending on where the user is.

The only device that can access the AT&T network int he aforementioned places is the Netgear Nighthawk 5G, but this hotspot is not available in stores.
