Samsung lowers prices of Galaxy S10 series ahead of Huawei P30 launch

Huawei Mate X Foldable to Be Available to Buy in June Vmall Listing Tips

If you're interested in foldable phones, you'll get your chance to be an early adopter of this new form factor when the Samsung Galaxy Fold launches at T-Mobile later this month.

Samsung has unveiled its new mid-range Galaxy A80, which has a three rear camera array on a horizontal bar, which automatically slides up and rotates to become a selfie camera. The front of the device features a 25MP selfie camera as well. The A70, on the other hand, will be sold for £369 (P25,071 or $484) in the United Kingdom starting April 26. While we are expecting the phone to make it to India soon, here are my first impressions of the Galaxy A70 from Thailand launch event.

The achievement of Samsung's novel design is to remove the need for any type of cutout, be it a notch or even Samsung's subtle Infinity-O punch hole in the Galaxy S10. The same for the iPhone X and XS, which both come with a $279 fee for a display replacement, and with an extra of $549 if the back panel needs to be changed too. Samsung has actually reduced the bottom bezel a bit on Galaxy A70, as a result it offers 1080×2400 pixels resolution with 20:9 aspect ratio. It shouldn't cost more than the Galaxy S10e, which will run you P39,990 ($772) in stores. The back is made of polycarbonate with glass-like finish.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A40 is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7885 processor, followed by 4/6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. You get two performance cores clocked at 2GHz and six efficiency cores clocked at 1.7GHz. There is a microSD card slot as well for further expansion.

Inside that new camera mechanism, you'll find a triple-camera setup that has a main 48-megapixel camera alongside a pair of other sensors. The company has also included a 32-megapixel front shooter for selfies with an f/2.0 lens. Like the Galaxy A50 and A80, the A70 uses an in-screen scanner for fast and convenient unlocking. So wait for our full review for the same.

According to Sammobile, the Galaxy A80 will be available on May 29 for €649 ($730) across Europe.
