Redacted Mueller report out this week

Mueller released the report on his almost two year investigation into Russian meddling during the 2016 presidential election on March 22.

Barr has suggested there may have been "improper surveillance" on President Trump's 2016 campaign and said he was "looking into it".

Special counsel Robert Mueller's highly anticipated report is expected to be issued this week in redacted form by Attorney General William Barr, and election law expert laid out some of the key findings to focus on. Rather, Mueller's team wrote, according to Barr, that "while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him".

U.S. President Donald Trump questioned Saturday whether Congressional Democrats should have access to a redacted version of the Mueller report that cleared him of conspiring to collude with Russian Federation during the 2016 election. However, soon after that update from Barr, the House Judiciary Committee, along a party-line vote, authorized a subpoena for the full report and its underlying investigative evidence.

"The fact is we also need to see the report because it may be that Mueller decided not to prosecute obstruction of justice for various reasons ... but there still may be proof of very bad deeds", he said.

Barr said in congressional testimony Wednesday that he the believes the DOJ "spied" on the Trump campaign and he plans to open a DOJ investigation into the origins of the Russian Federation probe.

Rosenstein on Friday defended Barr's handling of the process, saying the attorney general was "being as forthcoming as he can".

In order to distract from unanswered questions about Mueller's report, Trump reportedly revived a proposal which was previously been rejected by his own administration to release immigrant detainees in so-called sanctuary cities, sources close to the president told the Times.
