Lewis Hamilton blocks out F1 party to focus on Chinese GP success

Then again, the Prancing Horse the German drove in Barcelona back in March hasn't exactly been the same auto since it left Spain. He touched upon the subject of Sebastian Vettel and his spin while chasing Lewis Hamilton.

Five times world champion Lewis Hamilton, victor in Bahrain after Leclerc slowed while leading, has been more successful than anyone in China and will be aiming to win the race for a sixth time.

Vettel admitted he was "not happy" about a "difficult race" in Bahrain, when he was outpaced by team-mate Charles Leclerc in only his second race for Ferrari in his second Formula 1 season.

"It's absolutely no different to any other race weekend for me".

Wolff said: "The main reason was that I think it would have been a distraction in the title fight, especially as our main opponent did not cooperate".

"As I showed in Australia, the interest of the team is extremely important", Leclerc said. "I didn't know he said anything nice, but it's nice to hear".

"I hope this weekend is closer between us because this is a great track to have a real race". Nevertheless, every year the challenges are different and I think we had a little extra time to understand the auto a little bit more to work and play with the setup.

"It was a surprise when we came to Australia and the vehicle wasn't anywhere near what we had in Barcelona, with the auto being very alive and unstable".

"I am not one for birthdays, I'm not one for anniversaries, I'm not one for particularly special days like this, so it is absolutely no different to any other race weekend for me", he said.

"So I think that proved very useful, at least that's the feeling we have now so let's see how it turns out overall".

At both races this year he has been off the pace and in Bahrain he was comprehensively outperformed by teammate Charles Leclerc.

"He's got the auto for it", he added. But I think Bahrain was already a lot better. And to be fair the behaviour in Barcelona was very strong. "Not happy with the feeling yet with the vehicle, the feeling that I had prior to the season in testing". But sometimes you never know what is going on with other drivers at other teams.

"We need to get everything right [in China]". I'm not really sure. The win was very close.

Bernie Ecclestone does not believe five-time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton will join Ferrari from current team Mercedes with the Brit going head to head with the Scuderia for the title this season.
