Is Dale Steyn about to join RCB at the IPL?

Preview Virat Kohli

Now, Royal Challengers Bangalore have purchased the valuable services of South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn as the replacement for injured Nathan Coulter-Nile, who has preferred to rule himself out of the rest of the tournament with a back niggle.

"Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 match against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali on 13th April 2019", it said in a statement.

Numerous Indian publications, including the Times of India, are speculating that Steyn has been signed by the struggling Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

While chasing a target of 174, Kohli and AB de Villiers starred for the visitors as they played knocks of 67 and 59*, respectively, to take the team over the line with four balls to spare. Yuzvendra Chahal has been their top bowler with nine wickets but rest of the bowling line-up conceded far too many runs. While one can't be too harsh on the bowlers considering that the wicket at the Wankhede is known to aide batsmen, but considering the RCB line-up, Rohit will definitely want his boys to pull up their socks.

He also played for RCB between 2008 and 2010, taking 27 wickets.

On RCB finally getting a win, he added: "Yes, I was telling Gary (Kirsten) that I had brought two points for the side after my recent trip and we got it today (chuckles)". We just weren't good on the given day. With the losing streak, RCB became recorded the joint worst-ever start to an IPL season by any franchise along with Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals), who had also suffered defeat in their first six games in the 2013 season. He scored unbeaten 38-ball 59 which led his side to their first win of the tournament on Saturday.

Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams.
