Fisher-Price Rock 'N Play Sleeper May Cause Death

Fisher-Price has issued a warning to parents who own their Rock'N Play Sleeper after announcing that 10 babies have died while using it since 2015

Fisher-Price and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission are warning people about the company's Rock 'N Play due to reports of deaths when infants roll over.

They revealed that the children, who were all three months or older, had rolled while unrestrained onto their stomach or side from their back.

Because deaths continue to occur, CPSC is recommending consumers stop use of the product by three months of age, or as soon as an infant exhibits rollover capabilities.

The CPSC says it warned consumers to use restraints in the baby solutions that are inclined-sleep. The most recent death was reported last month.

Fisher-Price said in a statement that their product meets safety standards, but there is a risk the product would be used incorrectly.

In another post in 2016, Benaroch wrote: "The Rock-n-Play Sleeper ... is marketed and sold as a "sleeper.' You can tell, because the word 'sleeper" is in the name of the product".

Fisher-Price had previously warned that babies older than three months had fallen out of the sleeper and died.

Fisher Price's parent company Mattel told the New York Times that parents should use the provided harness to secure infants and avoid obvious hazards.

The news was covered extensively in Australia over the weekend, where the product is one of the the country's most popular baby sleepers, according toDaily Mail Australia.

Fisher-Price Premium Auto Rock n' Play sleepers are on sale at Amazon for $117.66 in Australia. "We are always concerned by reports such as those we are seeing from the U.S".
