Britney Spears checks out of treatment facility

Britney Spears

It had been claimed she is seeking treatment after becoming "distraught" over her father Jamie Spears' ongoing health battle. Earlier this week, the "Slave 4 U" hitmaker - who has sons Sean Preston, 13, and 12-year-old Jayden with ex-husband Kevin Federline - broke her silence to reassure fans that "all is well" following speculation about her health.

The stress of the family crisis forced the singer to postpone her new Las Vegas residency and seek treatment at a mental health facility earlier this month (Apr19). "It was her decision to leave, but she will still be monitored from home", a source close to the songstress told E! Since finishing treatment, it's been reported the songbird has made improvements and appears to be in a much better mental state, though doctors were still concerned about creating a formula of medications that would help her stay on the straight and narrow as it was reported her old mix of medications may have triggered her mental health crisis.

Spears is reportedly looking forward to spending time with her family and does not now have any plans to return to performing.

"She is urged to take it easy for a long period of time", they shared.

"My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal", she added.

She has been on medication since her highly-publicized breakdown over a decade ago, when her dad was appointed a co-conservator of her personal and professional affairs - a role he still holds.

Assuring her fans that she was doing okay, that evening Spears posted a video on Instagram sharing that "all is well".

She wrote at the time: "I don't even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say".
