Single digit wind chills, highs in the low 20s

Bitter, dangerous wind chills return tonight

Frigid temperatures are expected overnight with unsafe wind chills to start the day on Monday.

As an arctic cold front pushes south, across Texas today, very cold air will settle across West Central Texas. Tonight, we will see mostly clear skies with low temperatures in the single digits below zero. Wind chills are expected to fall between -10° to -25° below zero. Wind chills Monday morning will be as low as minus 5 degrees in Oklahoma City.

During the advisory wind chills could get close to -30° for some north and western communities and just under -20° for lakeside spots. Please make sure that you are covering up as much skin as possible and limiting your time outdoors as well as your pets time outdoors. The best chance for a broken record will be Monday's high temperature where the coldest high temp on record for March 4 sits at 12°.

A weak weather system will spray some light snow into the region late Wednesday night, that will change to light rain showers pretty quickly early Thursday morning.
