Muslims pray during a vigil for victims of the mosque shootings in New Zealand, outside city hall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada March 15, 2019.

The attack was carried out by 28-year-old white man Brenton Harrison Tarrant, who has been charged with murder ever since. But the 87-page document, also posted on social media just before the shooting began, was filled with anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim screeds.

"It did not include a location, it did not include specific details", she said, adding that it was sent to security services within two minutes of receipt.

One additional victim was found at the Dean Ave Mosque.

Tarrant was also purportedly inspired to commit the mosque shootings by Norwegian far-right terrorist Anders Breivik, who killed 77 people in Oslo in 2011.

The court was closed to the public over safety concerns, however a number of people gathered outside ahead of his appearance, including a man who told reporters his father was one of the victims.

Thirty-four people were still in Christchurch Hospital with 12 in critical condition and one child was moved to dedicated children's hospital in Auckland.

They shared a video message from musicians SOL3MIO, who dedicated a song to "New Zealand, and to family and friends".

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says the bodies of the 50 people killed in Friday's mosque attacks will start being released to family members beginning Sunday evening.

A steady stream of mourners arrived at a makeshift memorial outside the Al Noor mosque, where hundreds of flowers lay piled amid candles, balloons and notes of grief and love. "We wish we knew your name to write upon your heart".

Facebook, Twitter and Google scrambled to take down the gunman's video, which was widely available on social media for hours after the bloodbath.

"By the time we were advised of that email, the attack had taken place".

Ardern has said Tarrant was a licensed gun owner who bought the five guns used in the crimes legally.

New Zealand's prime minister Jacinda Arden has vowed to change the country's gun laws in the wake of the shooting spree that stunned the world. "Our gun laws will change".

At least one of the weapons used by Tarrant was reportedly an AR-15 - the same semi-automatic rifle used in a number of mass shootings in the United States, including the 2012 Sandy Hook school killings in CT.
