K-pop star Yong Jun-hyung embroiled in sex bribery scandal

BREAKING! Big Bang's Seungri Has Quit The Entertainment Industry

"I will faithfully cooperate with an investigation by police that will start on Thursday and I will readily accept whatever punishment is in store for me", the publication quoted Jung Joon-young as saying.

He is the third K-pop star to step away from the spotlight this week in a scandal sweeping South Korea's music industry.

As prostitution is illegal in South Korea, Seungri could find himself in hot water if the accusations are proven to be true.

Singer Lee Seung-hyun, 28, better known by the stage name Seungri, is suspected of paying for prostitutes for foreign businessmen to drum up investment in his business.

The focus on finding the winning song and dance formula came at the cost of the performers' "moral education", said entertainment commentator Ha Jae-keun, adding that many companies covered up problems until it was too late. I have filmed women without consent and have distributed footage in social-media chatrooms and I've felt no guilt while doing so.

He is alleged to have uploaded the footage to a group KakaoTalk chat and showed it to several other celebrities, including K-pop boy band BIGBANG's Seungri.

The March 11 episode of SBS' 8 O'clock News had reported that hidden camera videos and photos were shared between a total of eight people in the chatroom, including Seungri, two male singers, CEO Yoo of Yoori Holdings, acquaintance Mr Kim, one entertainment agency employee and two other non-public figures.

According to The Straits Times, Jung is also accused of sharing photographs and videos of women who were unconscious, as well as body parts of waitresses in hostess bars.

Highlight's entertainment label, Around US Entertainment, said in a statement that Yong was "now in a deep state of reflection for his past inappropriate actions, as well as for the disappointment that he undoubtedly caused many due to his immorality".

It is unclear if the charges will have any effect on Seungri's upcoming military enlistment, which is scheduled to begin on Mar 25.

The management agency YG Entertainment of BIGBANG announced on Wednesday that they have ended contract with Seungri.

"On top of his singing career, he somehow mastered Japanese and Chinese, which made him a useful member whenever Big Bang visited those countries".

"In regards to what is being said in relation to me, I admit to all my crimes".

The K-Pop star continued: "More than anything, I kneel and apologise to the women who appear in the videos who have learned of this ugly truth as the incident has come to light".

According to the letter dated March 12, Jung also said investigations wee slated to begin on March 14.
