How An iPhone Saved A Man From Bow And Arrow Attack

The arrow pierced a mobile telephone during the accident in Nimbin

A 43-year-old man stopped his auto at his driveway at a Nimbin property on Wednesday morning and noticed a man he knew, reportedly armed with the archery gear, NSW police said.

An Australian is lucky to be alive after allegedly stopping an arrow with his mobile phone in a confrontation with a man in the small town of Nimbin, in the state of New South Wales, on Wednesday.

An Australian man used his smartphone as a shield to block an arrow that was sacked at him during a skirmish, according to police.

The 39-year-old archer fired the arrow at the resident when he raised his phone to photograph the skirmish.

He did not require medical treatment, police said.

NSW Police confirmed in a statement that the 43-year-old man who came under attack managed to emerge with only a small laceration on his chin, thanks to his iPhone acting like an unlikely shield.

He was taken to the local police station and charged with intent to commit an indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and malicious damage.
