'Fortnite' Nintendo Switch Cross-Play With PS4, Xbox One No Longer Supported

Fortnite 2.08 update patch notes

According to the patch's release notes, players are required to opt-in to crossplay, and players opting out are being restricted to the game's Creative Mode and Playgrounds. From now on, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will be pooled together (you'll have to opt-in to cross-play) while Nintendo Switch players will be pooled in with mobile players.

"Fortnite" players on Switch and mobile will no longer be in the same matchmaking pools by default as players on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the latest patch notes from Epic Games revealed on Tuesday.

Found at expedition camps and around pirate camp stashes (usually several in one place, from what I've seen), the Baller is pretty agile, blessed with a turbo boost, unlimited grappling lines, and no chance of flipping over. Keep in mind, however, that the Baller will take damage and only has 300 health, so your opponents can still get the better of you by destroying it. These completely replace the previous item payment based vending machines. Vending machines now dispense one item for free, but will disappear thereafter.

The Getaway limited time mode makes its return, with players tasked with stealing a jewel and attempting to make their getaway. In the changelog, Epic says that they "expect an on-average better per-game experience for both Mobile and Switch players", although it's hard to understand why given the different input methods (controller vs. touchscreen) of the two groups of players. This gives players on the powerful hardware an advantage because not only are the controls much more responsive, but the added frames increase precision.
