Felicity Huffman & Lori Loughlin Charged in College Exam Cheating Scandal

Hollywood actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are reportedly among the boldfaced names charged in an alleged college admissions bribery scam.

Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are among 50 people, including CEOs and executives, arrested in a college admissions cheating scandal, according to multiple reports on March 12, which cite unsealed legal documents in Boston.

The Associated Press reports racketeering conspiracy charges were brought against coaches at schools including Wake Forest University, Georgetown and the University of Southern California.

Authorities say the consulting company also bribed administrators of college entrance exams to allow a Florida man to take the tests on behalf of students or replace their answers with his.

Prosecutors say the coaches were bribed to indicate students were being considered as athletic recruits, because universities "typically apply different criteria when evaluating applications from students with demonstrated athletic abilities".

Those charged in the case allegedly paid bribes of up to $6 million to get their children into college.

Loughlin and her husband are accused of agreeing to pay $500,000 in bribe to have their daughters recruited to the USC crew team, even though they had not previously participated in crew sports.

Macy was not charged but Giannulli was named alongside his wife in the papers. "Huffman later made arrangements to pursue the scheme a second time, for her younger daughter, before deciding not to do so".

The consultant is also accused of arranging for students to cheat on entrance exams.

The indictment says the girl received a score of 1420 on her SAT ... an improvement of approximately 400 points over her PSAT.

The FBI recorded phone calls involving the celebrities and a cooperating witness, according to the criminal complaint.
