Bill & Ted 3 Confirmed By Keanu Reeves And Alex Winter In Video

Bill and Ted – Face the Music video

Unusual things will be afoot at the Circle K once again as Hammerstone Studios and Orion today announced that the third Bill & Ted movie, Bill & Ted Face the Music, will head into production this summer in New Orleans for an August 21, 2020 release. Now Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are landing in 2020. Face the Music is slated for release next spring, 31 years after the first film opened in theaters.

Most excellent news for supporters of the "everything old is new again" trend in Hollywood: Bill and Ted are making a new movie.

After they introduced themselves as "Wyld Stallyns", the two tag-teamed a message where they say thank you to the fans, because it looks like the long-awaited third installment, Bill & Ted Face the Music, will actually go into production this summer. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns that only their tune can save life as we know it - forcing Bill and Ted to set out on a time-travel adventure to find inspiration for the song.

The original Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure opened in 1989 with an unforgettable tagline: "History is about to be rewritten by two guys who can't spell".

"Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends", the description teases. The low-budget film, which co-starred George Carlin, was a surprise blockbuster that put Reeves on the path to stardom.

The previous "Bill & Ted" films were celebrated box office successes, becoming cultural touch points for a generation and garnering a rabid cult following in the process. Its sequel, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, followed in 1991. The duo then reminds us to "be excellent" before the words "In theaters summer 2020" appear on-screen.
