Australia beat India and seal the series

Steve Smith David Warner

After the conclusion of the Australia ODI series, which Indian team lost 2-3, the team members are looking forward to participating in the Indian Premier League from March 23.

He expected every player travelling with the team to England to do well, and there are no excuses for their performances in the ODI series against Australia.

"It's unbelievable, the resilience and fight that we showed", Finch said.

"To win this series, particularly after being 2-0 down, is a brilliant achievement ... it means a lot to us".

Australia were 2-0 down in the five-match ODI series after which they came back into the game and snatched the series from India's mouth to win it by 3-2.

"We always knew that the plans and the style that we wanted to play are all there (and) can win us the World Cup", he added.

"To end a really, really, really tough summer against a very good Indian side and have won eight games, drawn one and one no result - it's a pretty good achievement".

Opener Usman Khawaja's second century of the series guided Australia to 272 for nine on Wednesday, a total their bowlers defended by dismissing India for 237.

"It's huge. Just winning a series in India is huge".

"They beat us in Australia, so to come back from those first couple of losses and win three in a row to win the series is a great feeling".

Not just as a reliable batsman and wicketkeeper, Dhoni's guidance in the field was also missed in the last two matches that India lost against Australia. Former Australian World Cup victor Allan Border says, "There may no longer be room left in Australia's ODI XI for Steve Smith and David Warner after the team claimed its "best ever" series win in the format".

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Asad Umar also praised Khawaja for his outstanding performance and jokingly tweeted: "What do you think, should we not honour Usman Khawaja with a national award this [coming] Pakistan Day?"

Khawaja was also the highest run scorer in the series and have put the Australian selectors in dilemma for the World Cup squad.
