You Almost Have to Respect This $900,000 Kanye West Fashion Week Scam

Kanye West’s Signature Reportedly Forged in $1 Million Scam for NYFW Philipp Plein Performance

According to Yusef, Plein's insinuation of a Kanye West-agreement is completely unfounded.

German fashion designer Philipp Plein, known for his blingy and skull designs, invites the who's-who of the fashion industry for his show that was supposed to be by the pool.

Make-up mogul Kim Kardashian has earlier dismissed speculation that her other half, rap icon Kanye West, would perform at a fashion show as "just a rumour".

The clothing brand wired a $900,000 advance to an account, but reps for Kanye West came forward and claimed Malik Yusef misrepresented himself and scammed Kanye and Philipp Plein.

He allegedly negotiated a almost million dollar contract for Kanye's performance, including a $900,000 advance, which, according to TMZ, Plein wired to an account associated with the scammer.

The real victim here, aside from Yeezy, is Philipp Plein, a designer who ended up agreeing to a SEVEN-FIGURE contract for "Kanye" to perform at NYFW.

TMZ reports that the guy involved is "a former friend" of the singer's and a one-time associate of G.O.O.D. The Blast reports Plein agreed to donate $500,000 to the foundation.

Kanye West started Donda's House after his mother, Donda West passed away in 2007.

The media outlet has stressed that Kanye had no knowledge of the performance and the scam: he received none of the money.

A source told Page Six that Plein is now "desperately trying to book acts" for Monday's show. Unfortunately we too were affected by this misrepresentation.
