Xiaomi’s budget brand might be working on a Snapdragon 855 smartphone

Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand will launch a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 flagship smartphone

Xiaomi previously announced that "Redmi" is becoming a separate entity, essentially a sub-brand, and the company has already released one catch-all phone since then, but it seems like it's planning to introduce a flagship device as well. At the launch of the Redmi Note 7 China launch, Xiaomi CEO revealed that the company would be launching the Redmi Note 7 Pro next month, that is in February. Meanwhile, the Redmi 6 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage version will be available at Rs 8,499 instead of Rs 10,499.

According to the report coming from MSP, the Redmi Note 7 smartphone will be available in two variants at the time of launch in India - 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. Meanwhile, the company also launched its first ever Android Go phone aka the Redmi Go. Similarly, the Galaxy M20 comes with a price tag of Rs 10,990 for the 3GB + 32GB variant and Rs 12,990 for the 4GB + 64GB variant.

The Redmi Note 7 features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 450 nits brightness, 84 percent NTSC colour gamut and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The Redmi Note 7 is fueled by the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core processor, which managed to surprise quite a few people, as the Snapdragon 710 was expected.

As of now, there is no additional information on the upcoming flagship Redmi smartphone. The phone will probably include two cameras on the back, 48 and 5-megapixel cameras, while a single 13-megapixel camera will be utilized on its front side. Redmi Note 7 also gets a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 support.
