Confirmed: Ser Pounce is officially dead

'Game of Thrones' creator reveals fan favorite's off-screen death

Even so, showrunner David Benioff has just revealed an offscreen death that's truly shocking.

We're just two months away from the final season of HBO super successful fantasy drama Game of Thrones.

Out of all of the characters on Game of Thrones, Ser Pounce-a nonmagical and perfectly ordinary cat owned by King Tommen Baratheon, First of His Name, in King's Landing-may have made the biggest impact with the least amount of screentime.

That's right, Tommen's adorable cat is dead. "So she came up with her most diabolical (execution)", Benioff said. And then Ser Pounce had to suffer an even bigger indignity: an off-screen death.

"Ser Pounce's death was so frightful we couldn't even put it on the air", Benioff claimed.

Showrunner Dan Weiss, chiming in, said that if we buy "the super-extended, super-charged Game of Thrones box set", there will be an entire episode devoted to the death of Ser Pounce.

In reality, the writers explained that the cat was simply too much trouble on set. Was he still at the Red Keep?

"That cat was really not fun to work with", Benioff says.

The showrunners don't sound as though they'll miss Ser Pounce too much.

And given that the cats have their own agendas means that one of the white walkers have retrieved it and that later, it would come back to attack Cersei. Weiss agreed, adding, "Dogs generally do what you ask them to do if they're smart and well-trained".
