Bugatti celebrates 110 years of production with Chiron Sport '110 ans'

Bugatti Chiron Sport “110 ans Bugatti”

French maker of supercars Bugatti is celebrating the 110th anniversary of its very first auto with a special version of the Chiron Sport, limited to just 20 cars.

Appropriately called the Bugatti Chiron 110 Ans Bugatti, French for "110 Years of Bugatti", the hypercar is all about honoring its French heritage.

That's why you'll see the "Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge" (tri-colours of France, namely blue, white and red) proudly adorning numerous parts of the exterior and cabin, including the huge deployable rear spoiler. The mirror caps also feature the French flag's colors, though, the colors are mirrored on the passenger side. Bugatti said in its announcement this follows the form of official French vehicles, which ensure the flag's blue portion is to the fore on both sides of the auto.

Bugatti didn't name a price but considering the base Chiron Sport starts at 2.65 million euros (about RM12.2 million) before taxes and options, it won't come cheap.

The rear of the vehicle is finished in matte Steel Blue paintwork (contrasting with the matte black exhaust system), with the "C" shaped element surrounding the passenger compartment painted in the same hue. The sports steering wheel combines matte carbon-fibre with a blue leather cover. The surfaces are either soft Deep Blue leather, Alcantara or blue carbon fibre.

If that isn't enough attention to detail for you, a bespoke medallion made of solid silver with enamel inserts sits atop a carbon-fibre plate on the centre console stowage. The Type 10 was light, small and nimble with an adequate power output - an agile racing auto with function following form in an uncompromising way. In the 1920s, these included the Type 35, one of the most successful racing cars ever, as well as the Type 41 Royale, the epitome of absolute automobile luxury. In 1987, Romano Artioli revived the brand and produced the EB 110, a super sports vehicle with a top speed of over 340 km/h - the fastest production auto in the world at the beginning of the 1990s.

Performance figures stay the same, with the Chiron Sport's 8.0 litre quad-turbo W16 engine serving up 1,479 hp (1,500 PS) and 1,600 Nm of torque.
