In its official blog, Apple explained that Health Records will allow veterans across the United States to see their medical information from participating institutions organised into one view all in the Health app on the iPhone.
Apple has been working with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and announced that Health Records are coming for veterans.
The data is encrypted and is protected via passcode, Touch or Face ID.
Many healthcare facilities offer online access to medical records, but the systems are often clunky and hard to navigate. "It's truly an honor to contribute to the improved healthcare of America's heroes". Those positive results led the UC Health system to expand Apple Health Records access to its 5 million patients.

"Given Apple's public and ongoing commitment to privacy and security and the holistic manner in which they go about providing a trusted platform in iOS, I would think Apple's health records on iPhone is likely the most secure way in which veterans can access their VA health records", Weidman said.
Welcoming VA providers into the fold is a huge addition.
Last year, Apple announced a separate deal to let users access records from more than 100 hospitals through its health records app.
Apple Health Records launched in 2018 and follows in the vein of aborted earlier efforts by large technology companies like Google and Microsoft to create personal health records for patients. All these entities, plus Apple and others, may ultimately be angling to fill prescriptions and act as a broker for other health services.
