Xiaomi may also have a foldable phone in the works

The video shows a device, thought to be a Xiaomi device and is likely a prototype, but we know multiple manufacturers are working on this technology, so its possible we see it some time in 2019.

Though it's unclear if this is actually a Xiaomi product, or even if it's anywhere near market-ready, the tablet does seem to function and respond to touch gestures before folding up without seams.

So, it is still doubtful whether or not the foldable phone showcased in the video is from Xiaomi, but we feel it is considering the interface looks similar to MIUI.

The rumor hints a phone manufactured by Xiaomi, and they are working on a foldable phone. It wouldn't come as a surprise if the model in the video is authentic and Xiaomi-branded. Additionally, the bezels on the sides of the device are nearly invisible, which means that this foldable phone from Xiaomi will offer a great video experience to the users. It shows a version of a mapping app spread across three screens, after which the user folds the device's sides down.

Though Evan Blass himself is questioning the authenticity of the video he shared Thursday on Twitter, it's not often that his resources provide inaccurate or flat-out false information. The device looks to be tablet sized and Google maps have been accessed on it and could be folded on both sides to give it a smartphone form factor.

When in an unfolded state, the screen upfront is quite large.
