Woman Dies After Becoming Trapped In Toronto Clothing Donation Bin

METROGRAB Woman died after getting trapped in clothing donation box. A woman has been located partially inside a clothing donation box. Police on scene say she is vital signs absent. CPR in progress. Dovercourt Rd near Bloor St Toronto

Last November, a 32-year-old man was discovered dead inside a donation box in Cambridge, Ont., and a man in his 20s died in a similar container in Calgary in July 2017.

Police tweeted that they had received reports of a woman inside a clothing donation box in that area, and that she appeared to be injured and unconscious.

Police and paramedics treated the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said her death is not suspicious and they are investigating the incident as a death by misadventure.

Last Sunday, a man died after he was stuck inside a clothing donation bin at West Vancouver's Ambleside Park.

Police said the woman didn't have any vital signs when firefighters pulled her from the bin.

Residents living in the area told Canadian TV station CP24that it is not unusual for women from local homeless shelters to attempt to grab things from the charity donation bins. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was also pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the eighth death related to people getting stuck inside donation bins in Canada since 2015.
