Trump dodges question on whether he has worked for Russian Federation

President Donald Trump listens as he leads a roundtable discussion on border security with local leaders Friday Jan. 11 2019 in the Cabinet Room of the White House in Washington

U.S. President Donald Trump has denied hiding details of conversations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin from administration officials, saying he is "not keeping anything under wraps".

"I like the symbol of me being here", Trump told Pirro.

Trump made the comments in a telephone interview late on January 12 with Fox News, after The Washington Post reported that the US president "has gone to extraordinary lengths to hide details" of his conversations with Putin.

Federal authorities say Manafort reported owing $10 million on a loan from Mr. Deripaska on a 2010 tax form.

"Wow, just learned in the Failing New York Times that the corrupt former leaders of the FBI, nearly all fired or forced to leave the agency for some very bad reasons, opened up an investigation on me, for no reason & with no proof, after I fired Lyin' James Comey, a total sleaze!" the president tweeted.

Former officials say this is at odds with practices of previous USA presidents.

The Post reported that the USA interpreter present at the official Hamburg meeting was approached by other administration officials seeking more information about what the two leaders discussed.

Was Donald Trump working for Russian Federation? No administration officials or aides were in the room for that talk.

But it held off on opening an investigation until the president sacked Comey, who refused to pledge allegiance to Trump and roll back the nascent Russian Federation investigation.

President Trump has met with Vladimir Putin face-to-face five times so far, but even high-ranking members of his own administration are unsure exactly what they said to each other, reports the Washington Post. "I think it's the most insulting article I've ever had written". "The Foreign Affairs Committee will seek to get to the bottom of it".

"It's our responsibility to try to find out, in the best interest of the country, what really has gone on with Putin and Trump", Engel told NPR's Sarah McCammon Sunday on All Things Considered.

Trump himself, characteristically, took to Twitter on Saturday to discuss his firing of Comey.

In the Fox News interview, Trump questioned why the newspaper made such a "big deal" out of his discussions with Putin in Helsinki last summer.

That account followed another in The New York Times that the FBI became so alarmed after Trump fired director James Comey in May 2017 that it opened a counterintelligence investigation into whether he was acting on Russia's behalf. The bureau also began a probe of whether or not the president committed obstruction of justice by firing Comey.

"I mean, I had a conversation like every president does".

His press secretary, Sarah Sanders, said in a statement Saturday that the latest charges are "absurd", adding, "James Comey was sacked because he's a disgraced partisan hack".

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), said in a statement that the House Judiciary Committee, which he chairs, will be taking action.

"Wow, just learned in the Failing New York Times that the corrupt former leaders of the FBI, nearly all fired or forced to leave the agency for some very bad reasons, opened up an investigation on me, for no reason & with no proof, after I fired Lyin' James Comey, a total sleaze!"
