Susan Boyle gets ‘Golden Buzzer’ on return to ‘America’s Got Talent’

America's Got Talent The Champions Contestants- Meet All 50 Acts

She then got a standing ovation from the audience for her performance.

Boyle - who shot to fame after finishing in second place on Britain's Got Talent in 2009 - was competing on the U.S. show and stunned judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum, but it was Mel B who was moved to press the coveted Golden Buzzer.

Since her appearance on the reality show in 2009, Boyle went on to sell more than 20 million records and earn two Grammy nominations, the BBC reported.

"I just want to say what an absolute honour and pleasure it is to be sitting here and listening to you".

The Scottish star made it to the final but came in second second place to Ashley Banjo's dance crew Diversity.

"And I want to be the woman who gives you something you deserve", she added, before pressing the buzzer. Her hit albums have topped the charts in the United Kingdom and sold more than 20 million copies around the world.

Many fans took to Twitter to share their surprise after watching her on the show, with one user writing: "It makes me so sad watching Susan Boyle on BGT and the crowd laughing at her based on her looks when she said she wanted to be a singer".

Boyle replied: "It's great to be back". You are the one.

"Susan, I'm genuinely beyond thrilled that you're here tonight", Cowell told Boyle.

Boyle - nicknamed Subo - replied: "I am happy and very humbled".

Boyle's cover of Wild Horses reached number nine in the United Kingdom singles chart in December 2009 - her highest entry.

Boyle got world-wide attention back in 2009 when she wowed the audience with her powerful performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" on "Britain's Got Talent".

Each show contains 10 acts and British teen Hadwin, who reached the America's Got Talent final a year ago, is set to appear.
