Saints to Face Philadelphia Eagles in Divisional Round of NFL Playoffs

Ezekiel Elliott

The Cowboys are now set to take on the Rams in the NFC's Divisional Round on Saturday night. Ahead of the game we break down the matchups.

But more than anything, this game is a signature event for a league who needs a good Cowboys team in the national football conversation, as well as for the second biggest media market to be relevant beyond the regular season.

Nick Foles may be nearing his last game with the Eagles as Philadelphia starts its playoff run, though it's not likely the franchise will have any trouble moving the backup quarterback before next season. The Saints held Carson Wentz to just 156 yards of passing with three interceptions.

Following the loss, the Eagles fell to 4-6, and their playoffs hopes were almost non-existent.

Foles' contract is structured in a way that he does not have to return to the Eagles in 2019, as the two sides have a mutual option for next season.

This comes after the Cowboys beat the Seattle Seahawks 24-22 and the defending Super Bowl champions stunned the Bears in Chicago 16-15 on Wild Card Weekend.

If the Eagles exercise their $20 million option for Foles, he has five days to decide if he wants to void his end of the deal and pay back $2 million.
